About Finishing Touches Painting and Decorating Services

Hello, my name is Steve Tucker and I am the owner of Finishing Touches -here is a little about me. 

I have been in the building trade since 1979, when at 18, I went to Willlesden Technical College in North West London, to take a City and Guilds qualification. 

I started work in the family business, run by my Father and Grandfather, W.T. Hamilton Ltd who were a leading decorating firm in that part of London for many years. I was taught old school techniques,skills and values which I hold strong belief in to this day. It gave me a good education in the processes and applications of my job and also a respect for my customers and their homes. 

I started out on my own in 1985 and grew the company to a point where my business partner and I employed approx 4-6 men at any one time, sometimes more depending on our workload. This gave me a good grounding in some of the bigger contracts and jobs and some much needed business skills.  We worked on some very prestigious homes and for some high profile & celebrity customers in Central  London. They included Prince Charles mentor Sir Laurens Van Der Post, Film director and food critic Michael Winner, actresses Jane Seymour and Patsy Kensit and her then husband singer Jim Kerr. TV personalities Trinny and Susanah, Film producer TV presenter Barry Took and designer Emily Todhunter. Footballer Les Ferdinand then of QPR.  

I worked on the refurbishment of Loftus Rd stadium in the 90's, at Morgans Bank in the City and the Mayfair Hotel and Theatre. 

Skindles nightclub in Maidenhead and the Valbonne club in Soho and RAC club in Piccadilly. 

I moved to Milton Keynes in 2001 with my expanding family to find a bigger house and a better quality of life that the capital couldn't provide. I started all over again having no contacts or customers in this area. 

Since then,  I have again built a business that now specialises in residential and some

small commercial work. I use a small team, numbers depending on workload, that I have hand picked to meet the standards I have and want to uphold. I demand a high quality finish from my men and a respect for the properties they work in. 

We endeavour to keep your home or workplace as clean and tidy as possible both during and after the work is finished. We will deliver a very high standard of finish with an attention to detail that you would expect but don't always get from every so called professional decorator. 

We provide advice on colours and finishes, paints and wallpapers. 

All areas of decorating are undertaken by us, no job is too small or large to be considered. 

I was recommended to a TV company and have been filmed by them for an upcoming series of the 'House Doctor' on Channel 5, hanging wallpaper in a house in Woburn Sands
